Winning the Best Robot Project- Award (AEC Hackathon Munich)

Please find english version below

This year for the first time the AEC Hackathon took place in Germany in Munich (Technical University Munich) and we were there as well!

Searching for new technological solutions in the digital age, we spent an exciting weekend full of interesting lectures of innovative projects. The workshops included topics such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, HTC Vive, Microsoft Hololens, Oculus Rift and controlling a KUKA robot: robots in architecture

We faced the challenge and participated in the "Best Robot Project Award". The task was to find solutions to everyday problems in architecture with the help of a robot – a perfect challenge for Alex, Ilie and Park from the SIDE team! Together with Thorsten (Bollinger + Grohmann), we worked all over the night and developed a concept to control a KUKA robot by using Autodesk Dynamo.
The idea behind this was the possible, future application of a robot for complex bending processes of reinforcements.

During our presentation, the participants of the AEC Hackathon were witnesses of a robot controlled – for the first time - by Dynamo. We were also able to convince the jury with our innovative approach and finally won the first place!

Many thanks to Phillip Müller & Co for the perfect organization of this amazing event.
