Wir sind stolz, verkünden zu
dürfen, dass wir den diesjährigen AEC Excellence Award in der Kategorie
„Building - simulation and analysis technology“ in Las Vegas gewonnen haben!

Bereits vor einigen Monaten
reichten wir das ÖAMTC Projekt (Generalplaner: Pichler und Traupmann Architekten und FCP - mehr
dazu im nächsten Blogeintrag) ein, um an den AEC Excellence Awards
teilzunehmen. Dieses Projekt soll vor allem zeigen, dass komplexe Geometrie kein Hindernis für BIM ist. Außerdem war es für uns
besonders wichtig, mit einem Projekt an dem Wettbewerb teilzunehmen, welches
bereits realisiert wurde (Anm.: Die ÖAMTC Zentrale wurde dieses Monat
bezogen). So können Problemstellen während aller Planungs- und Bauphasen
aufgezeigt werden. Da es sich bei der ÖAMTC Zentrale um eines unserer bekanntesten
Projekte als junges Unternehmen in der Welt des digitalen Bauens handelt, ist es für uns eine besondere Ehre für
die AEC Excellence Awards schließlich nominiert worden zu sein. Und noch
besser, wir konnten damit auch die US-amerikanische Jury überzeugen und den ersten
Platz in unserer Kategorie gewinnen.
Der AEC Excellence Award ist
ein jährlich stattfindender Wettbewerb, welcher unterschiedliche Kategorien wie
z.B. "IPD or Collaboration“, "Computational Design" oder "Design and Fabrication" beinhaltet und im Rahmen der Autodesk University in Las Vegas
verliehen wird. Heuer wurden 162 Beiträge aus 29 verschiedenen Ländern
eingereicht.

Auch wir hatten somit die
Gelegenheit, an der Autodesk University in Las Vegas teilzunehmen und unseren
Award vor Ort entgegenzunehmen. Uns erwartete eine ereignisreiche Woche mit
einem vollen Stundenplan in Las Vegas. Neben Vorträgen und Networkingdinners,
gab es auch die Möglichkeit an den verschiedensten Kursen teilzunehmen- Die
Qual der Wahl. Es wurden unterschiedlichste Kurse mit Themenschwerpunkten in den Bereichen Architektur, Konstruktion, Infrastruktur bis hin zu Produktdesign und Medienentertainment, angeboten. Wir setzten bei der Wahl der Kurse den
Fokus vor allem auf Facility Management und auf lebenszyklusorientierte Weiterverwendung von Gebäudedaten.
Zurück nach Wien kamen wir daher nicht nur mit einem Award im Gepäck,
sondern vor allem mit viel neuem Wissen, tollen Erfahrungen und einzigartigen
Eindrücken des fabulous Las Vegas.

Winners of the AEC Excellence Awards
We are
proud to announce that we are the winners of this year's AEC Excellence Award
in the category "Building Simulation and Analysis Technology" !

Several months ago we submitted the ÖAMTC Headquarter (general planer: Pichler & Traupmann Architekten and FCP - more information in the follow up
blog entry) to participate at the AEC Excellence Awards. This
project shows very well that complex geometry and BIM are no contradiction. Moreover,
it was quite important for us to participate at the competition with a project,
which is already built (Note: ÖAMTC headquarters were moved into
this month). Since the ÖAMTC headquarter is one of our most famous projects
as a young company, it was a special honor for us to be nominated for the AEC
Excellence Awards finally. And even better, we could convince the US-American jury and now won the first place in our category!
The AEC
Excellence Award is an annual competition, which includes different categories
such as "IPD or Collaboration”, “Computational Design” or “Design and
Fabrication”, and is awarded at the Autodesk University in Las Vegas. This year,
the response to the competition was impressive, with 162 submissions and 29
countries represented.

We also had
the opportunity to attend the Autodesk University in Las Vegas and receive our
award in person. We expected an eventful week with a full
schedule. In addition to talks and networking dinners, there was also
the possibility to participate at various courses - the agony of choice. There
were different courses offered ranging from architecture, construction,
engineering, infrastructure to product design and media entertainment. Concerning
the choice of our classes, we focused primarily on facility management and lifecycleorientated reuse of building information.
Back to
Vienna, we returned with a luggage full of an award and lots of new knowledge,
great experiences and amazing impressions of the fabulous Las Vegas!
